Life will helps us remember, if we listen.

My mother finally found the love of her life. For more than 35 years she’s searched for that someone who’s values, beliefs, principles, and deep abiding religious faith equal hers.

She's been in town the last few days on a return trip from Italy. I had the chance to do on-camera interviews with both her and her new husband. This was the first phase in creating a love story/video biography/family history documentary of their lives. I wanted to find out why they fell in love so they, and their family, would know and remember.

Long Island Reunion

This weekend I had the opportunity to interview a large family who had grown up on Long Island. Eight siblings had flown from all over the country to gather together for the first time in many years for a sibling family reunion. They were gathering to strengthen their relationships with activities, visiting old stomping grounds, and reminiscing. They asked me to film some of the events. I was intrigued with their story and suggested they do on-camera interviews with each sibling about their parents and growing up together. The family was thrilled with the idea and saw it as an opportunity to pass on their stories to their children, grandchildren, etc in a biographical documentary film.

I spent several hours interviewing all eight of them. The unity and stories they told were both emotional and amazing. Each person expressed deep, heartfelt gratitude for growing up in the family they did. Although they had differences, they had formed this unique bond I’ve rarely seen in other families. They had a deep abiding love and respect for each other. I showed them a rough cut, of what would be a longer film, before the reunion was over. It became a highlight for the sibling reunion and left not a dry eye in the room.

Stories are a wonderful thing. Sharing them can bring emotional healing. Capturing them for others to see can bring a lifetime of life's lessons.

Welcome to LifeStyle Cinema Blog

The new website, and now blog, are finally up. The company and idea are official. Whew!

The idea of LifeStyle Cinema began more than a year ago and had been spinning in our heads long before that. We wanted to deliver the same high-end look of our corporate, documentary, and motion picture productions to the wedding and event industry. There was a definite need and we wanted to fill that.

Many video production companies don't understand the art of visual storytelling. They've picked up a camera and decided they know how to make a video. I applaud them for their courage to try something new. Really! It takes courage to do that. Yet, can you imagine if your family doctor did that? The results?

At LifeStyle Cinema, our team understands the details and subtlies of visual storytelling. We've worked hard studying and practicing, and practicing and studying. We've worked to refine the art in schools of higher learning(college), and professionally. Why? Because we want to capture and tell stories the best way possible.

To that end, LifeStyle Cinema was founded to provide the finest wedding and event services available and tell stories of our clients in a way that moves them.

Michael
Creative Director
LifeStyle Cinema
